Approach

01

Stable API contracts

So client apps keep working as the product adds consumers and releases.

02

Schemas you can query later

Data models shaped for how the product actually reads and writes data.

03

State you can trace

Jobs and agentic workflows designed to resume, retry, and fail without hiding what happened.

04

Tradeoffs you can defend

Choices made for maintainability, so the next engineer is not guessing.

[01]About

What stays constant as the scope grows

Clear contracts, explicit state, and software that remains understandable across backend, real-time, and agentic product work.

Backend engineering has been my foundation since 2022: API design, database modeling, integrations, and Node.js services that stay reliable as products grow.

At Flirtmetrics, my scope now reaches beyond the backend. I work on self-hosted LiveKit calling, real-time sessions and chat, product integrations, the website, and an n8n publishing pipeline built around persistent state, explicit contracts, and recoverable failures.

My full-stack work at Spiralsols covered VideoSignal, a media capture and analysis product, and WeLoveJoe, a node-based platform for building business-specific agents. Earlier roles span event operations, multi-vendor commerce, and food delivery.

The range has grown, but the engineering standard has not changed: understand the product, make the data flow explicit, and ship work the next engineer can reason about.

01

Contracts that age with the product

APIs designed so clients stay stable across releases, with fewer silent breakages later.

02

Schemas that stay queryable

Data models shaped for how the product actually reads and writes, not only for the first feature.

03

Production as the constraint

Real-time features and agentic workflows built to behave under real conditions, not only in demos.

FlirtmetricsNow

Germany · Remote · Part-time

  • Build backend product features with NestJS and MongoDB, including self-hosted LiveKit audio and video calling.
  • Implemented live sessions and participant flows, real-time Socket.io chat, and the BestTime API integration.
  • Expanded into frontend ownership by delivering product fixes and a full website redesign tied to the platform's positioning.
  • Built a stateful n8n publishing pipeline with ordered series progression, structured content contracts, generated media, multipart storage uploads, and idempotent NestJS publishing.
  • Hardened the workflow with validation gates, unique media keys, deep upload-response handling, cache versioning, retries, and failure isolation.

Systems, not feature lists

Five products across backend, real-time communication, media capture, and agentic automation, with the engineering decisions behind each one.

[04]How I can help

Product work with a systems mindset

Backend remains the core. Real-time, frontend, and agentic work extend from it when the product needs one owner across the flow.

01

Backend API design & build

Clear contracts, maintainable service boundaries, and production-ready Node.js APIs for new features or complete products.

02

Real-time product features

LiveKit calling, Socket.io chat, sessions, and participant state connected to the product's existing data model.

03

Agentic workflows & automation

Stateful n8n and LLM workflows with structured contracts, validation gates, idempotency, and isolated failures.

04

Full-stack product delivery

Focused interfaces backed by reliable application behavior, from media capture and connected storage to workflow authoring.

Engagement models

Scoped contract or project · Ongoing retainer · Remote full-time

Engineering a solution properly before jumping into implementation

I worked with Waleed in our team, and he's one of those rare people who does far more than what's asked. He didn't just write solid code, he genuinely cared about the product.

He'd regularly bring me smart suggestions on how to improve things, and he had this great habit of thinking through and engineering a solution properly before jumping into implementation. That saved the team a lot of headaches down the line.

As his manager, what I valued most was how proactive and reliable he was. I could hand him something and trust it would get done right, and he'd often spot issues or improvements no one else had caught. He treated the project like it was his own.

Any team would be lucky to have him. Highly recommended.
